I like knowing how the whole thing works.
I've never been very interested in staying in one lane.
I want to know why the network is slow, why a workflow keeps failing, why users are working around a system and whether we can fix the cause instead of supporting the workaround forever.
That curiosity has taken me from systems support into infrastructure, cybersecurity, governance and software engineering. At Nairobi Club I lead IT operations and serve as Data Protection Officer. At Ekvator I work across enterprise systems and infrastructure. I keep building software because I genuinely enjoy turning operational problems into tools people can use.
Leadership has not made me less hands-on. If I am making a technical decision, I want to understand the implementation and the trade-offs. I do not need to write every line, but I do not like managing technology from a distance.
